Laparoscopy is a technique that allows viewing the pelvic-abdominal cavity with the aid of optical lens. Through an optical fiber, light is transmitted to illuminate the cavity, while the images are seen from a camera connected to the optical fiber. The same method allows surgery, so it is also considered a system for minimally invasive surgery which aims to correct or cure diseases. The device used is called Laparoscopy Tower and enters the body through a small incision (usually 0.5 to 1.5 centimeters).
